About me

Alreet! I’m Andrew Taws, a UX Product designer from Newcastle. I’m passionate about creating products that are not only nice to look at but also accessible to everyone. I do this by following industry standards such as WCAG to make sure that the products are accessible.

Currently, I am the Lead UX/UI Product designer at Recite Me, where I am responsible for designing user interfaces for a range of digital products. In my role, I collaborate closely with other designers, and developers to ensure that our products meet the needs of our users. I also work on user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups to create intuitive, user-friendly designs that help our users achieve their goals.

Before my current role, I worked as a designer at Changing Health, a Type 2 Diabetes healthcare startup. Here I worked closely with user researchers to conduct user interviews and usability testing.

When I'm not designing I can usually be found listening to music (From Ozzy to Fleetwood Mac), to going on long walks and watching F1.

I am also responsible for UX Audits, this helps to ensure that all our products are created in a way that they are highly accessible and meet our user's needs.

I also work closely with our development team to make sure features are built and work as expected to the design documents.

Here I also worked with user researchers to conduct usability tests and user interviewing to make sure that the products worked as expected.

Worked on an NHS programme called ‘Healthy Living’ which is one of the largest digital educational products of its type, helping to educate people with Type 2 Diabetes to learn more about their condition and how to manage it.
